Consonant Blends
Consonant blends are found at the beginning and ending of words. You will learn how to read words that have two or three consonants right next to each other, but unlike digraphs, each letter keeps its sound. Knowing these blends will help you become a better speller and reader.
Some consonant blends appear before the vowel in the beginning of a word for exaple:
/sp//i//n/ /fl//o//p/
Some consonant blends appear at the end of a word for exaple:
/d//a//mp/ /d//e//sk/
Here are a few consonant blends. Say consonat blend and the word a few times so that you can become familar with them.
